Retired HHS Ag teacher dead after medical emergency on tractor

Retired Hopkinsville High School Ag Teacher Troy Goode is dead following a medical emergency that led to a tractor accident in a field off Greenville Road in Christian County Saturday afternoon.

Deputies and EMS were called to the 5000 block of Greenville Road just after 1:30 p.m. and Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Goulet says Goode’s tractor went up and over the tire of a trailer that was hidden in high weeds with his tractor, causing his leg to become pinned between the left rear tire and the tractor.

Christian County Deputy Coroner Christy Adams says Goode had a medical emergency of some type while on the tractor and attempts to save his life with CPR on the scene and in the ambulance on the way to Jennie Stuart Medical Center were unsuccessful.

The 50-year old Goode retired from Hopkinsville High School following the 2020 school year and was chosen to address the graduating class.

Goode was the FFA advisor for much of his tenure at HHS and helped students earn many statewide honors during that time.

The Christian County Rescue Squad assisted at the scene.
