Bicyclist arrested on drug charges

A bicyclist stopped for running a red light Monday night was arrested on drug charges.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Gary Hicks writes on an arrest citation that he stopped 26-year old Michael Remm of Hopkinsville for running a red light on South Virginia Street about 10:10 p.m. and he also did not have lights on his bicycle.

Remm gave consent to search his person and police allegedly found a small baggie containing marijuana in his pocket. A pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine was found in a hidden pocket in his hat and several items used to make meth were found in his backpack, according to the arrest citation.
