Woman charged with DUI, wanton endangerment following wreck

A Hopkinsville woman was charged with DUI following a wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard Saturday that sent her to the hospital for a broken foot.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, a vehicle operated by 37-year old Misty Calhoun of Hopkinsville was travelling north of Fort Campbell Boulevard at a high rate of speed. Witnesses reportedly told officers they saw Calhoun swerve suddenly into the southbound lanes, in front of an oncoming car that had to swerve to avoid a collision.

Calhounā€™s vehicle reportedly left the roadway and struck a curb and a street light pole. While the vehicle was skidding across the parking lot at 2109 Fort Campbell Boulevard, it allegedly struck a second vehicle, causing damage.

When officers made contact with Calhoun, she allegedly told officers she had taken Ambien and Seroquel prior to driving.

Calhoun was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. She was charged with DUI and second-degree wanton endangerment.
