The mayor of Pikeville is asking for prayers for the family of the town’s police officers.
Officer Scotty Hamilton was shot and killed late Tuesday night while helping Kentucky State Police investigate a crime in the Hurricane Creek area of Pike County.
Hamilton had been with the Pikeville Police Department since 2006. Authorities are looking for the shooter.
