Christian County wins, Hopkinsville loses in Girls 2nd region semifinals

Girls 2nd region semifinal action last night saw Christian County end Henderson County’s five year run as region champion with a 63-50 victory. It was the first win for Christian County since a 79-72 win on January 12,2007. Trinitee Jackson led Christian County with 24 points with Aaliyah Hampton adding 15 and Laderia Gold pitched in 10 as the Lady Colonels improved to 23-7 on the season. Henderson County was led in scoring by Emilee Hope’s 17 points in concluding the season 14-13.

Webster County won the other semifinal over Hopkinsville 60-43. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by Yogi McKnight’s 15 points in finishing the season 20-11. Webster County got 17 points from Jessica Winders and Karlee Keeney in winning their 10th straight game in improving to 27-6.
