HPD: Man took fixtures out of old school

A Hopkinsville man was arrested Monday morning for allegedly going into the old Highland school to steal scrap metal.

An arrest citation for 41-year old Michael Glenn Snyder says Hopkinsville Police were contacted regarding a possible burglary in progress at the building on Highland School Road and officers found Snyder getting into a pickup loaded with light fixtures.

Snyder admitted he had been inside the building and removed the fixtures to sell for scrap metal.

He claimed he had permission to go inside the building, but the owner said that wasn’t true.

Snyder is charged with third-degree burglary.
