Pembroke woman hurt in Friday collision

A Pembroke woman was hurt in a two-vehicle collision on Pembroke Road Friday that was investigated by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the police report, a vehicle operated by 74-year old Freddie Martin of Hopkinsville was travelling east on Pembroke Road when he attempted to make a left turn onto Edwards Mill Road. At that time, a second vehicle driven by 63-year old Myra Sutton of Pembroke was travelling westbound on Pembroke Road.

Martin turned into her path, reportedly unable to see her due to the morning sun, and the two collided.

Sutton was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with complaints of chest and leg pain. Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.                                                                                                **
