MLB: Cardinals clinch playoff spot, Reds & Braves lose Sunday

The New York Mets doubled up the Cincinnati Reds 6-3 Sunday at Great American Ball Park. The Reds are off today before beginning their final home stand of the 2019 season against the Milwaukee Brewers tomorrow night, with pregame at 5:10 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Elsewhere in the National League: The St. Louis Cardinals clinched their first playoff berth since 2015 after beating the Chicago Cubs 3-2 at Wrigley Field. It was the Redbirds first four game sweep of the Cubs at Wrigley Field since 1921. St. Louis opens a series tonight at Arizona, while Chicago is off today.

The Atlanta Braves fell to the San Francisco Giants 4-1. The NL East champs are off today before opening an Interleague series at Kansas City tomorrow night.
