Public library hosting comic convention Saturday

The staff at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is excited to bring the Hoptown FanFest—a new comic convention—to the library this coming Saturday.

According to a news release, it will take place September 14 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., where there will be vendors, a cosplay contest, panel discussions, photo opportunities, a game room and a food truck.  Come dressed as a favorite pop culture character and sign up upon arrival to enter the cosplay contest. The cosplay contest is open to all ages, and there will be three age brackets with prizes for each bracket.

Panel discussions include Tabletop Game Development with Matt Schorr, Cosplay 101 with Kelsey Yang, 3D Printing in Cosplay with WillD Designs, and Writing and Illustrating Graphic Novels with Barry Williams.

The first 150 people who arrive at the event will receive a free Hoptown FanFest tote bag. For more information about programs and events at the library, check out their Facebook page.
