Arrests have been made in connection with two recent burglaries at The Depot liquor store in Guthrie.
Guthrie Police Sgt. Kevin Saunders received a report of someone breaking into a vehicle on Smith Street about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and was told the suspects left the scene in a white pickup. He located that pickup and found 39-year old Lolitta Warfield of Guthrie driving and 48-year old Troy Groves of Guthrie as a passenger.
Police say Groves had cuts on his left arm and there were 13 unopened bottles of liquor in the truck. Groves allegedly admitted he had broken into The Depot and a review of surveillance footage from burglaries on September 1 and from early Saturday morning led to him being charged in both incidents.
Groves allegedly broke the front door to get inside The Depot on both occasions and cut himself in the process both times.
A search of Groves’ person allegedly turned up a pipe containing crack cocaine and he also claimed ownership of marijuana in the truck.
Groves was arrested for two counts of first-degree burglary, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree criminal mischief and felony theft.
Warfield was arrested for complicity to first-degree burglary, driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain insurance, driving without registration and possession of an open alcohol container in a vehicle.
Guthrie Police Officer Eric Pinkett investigated the September 1 burglary.
Both suspects were lodged in the Todd County Jail.
