Dawson Springs receives $86k for street resurfacing work

Dawson Springs is the recipient of about $86,000 in state discretionary funds for resurfacing work on seven city streets.

During a recent Dawson Springs City Council meeting,  Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Department of Rural and Municipal Aid Commissioner Gray Tomblyn II announced the discretionary funds for resurfacing work on Union, Cross, Russell, Lynch and Oak Streets; Hamby Avenue and Baxter Lane.

Resurfacing repairs address existing surface cracks, potholes, raveling, and base failures.

Dawson Springs Mayor Chris Smiley identified these roads as being among the most critical in the city and says, “These extra funds will allow us to address some much needed street repairs and make the streets better for our citizens.”

The roads set to be addressed provide access to more than 130 homes.
