Hopkinsville Herby Curbie service pushed back one day by holiday

The Hopkinsville Solid Waste Enterprise is reminding residents that residential trash collection is pushed back one day this week by the Labor Day holiday.

Herby Curbie service will be one day later than what residents are accustomed to, concluding with Friday’s routes being completed on Saturday.

Residents are also reminded of the Household Hazardous Waste Collection event coming up Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon at the recycling center on Mt. Zoar-Latham Road.

Officials say citizens can use that event to throw away oil based paints, batteries, small propane tanks, e-scrap, insect sprays and several other items you wouldn’t normally toss in your regular trash.

Citizens will be required to fill out a survey and must stay in their vehicle while staff members  unload items to participate in the event.
