Woman sought on warrants facing new charges after pursuit

A woman wanted on a felony warrant is facing new charges following a foot pursuit Saturday.

Officers located 42-year old Tasha Wheeler of Hopkinsville at an apartment on North Elm Street at about 2 p.m., according to an arrest citation, which says she fled out the back door.

She was soon captured and allegedly gave officers her sister’s name and date of birth, which she admitted to doing once arriving at the jail, according to the report.

A computer check showed Wheeler was sought on warrants for second-degree escape and contempt of court.

She was additionally charged with felony theft of identity, fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
