The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced Thursday that the cities of Crofton and Princeton will receive discretionary funding to make vital road repairs on multiple streets.
According to news release, the City of Crofton will receive $70,905 and Princeton will get $110,500 and will go towards resurfacing repairs addressing existing surface cracks, potholes, raveling and base failures. In Crofton, the efforts will be focused on Rabbit Ridge Road, North Anderson Street, Clara Street, Kelvin Drive and West Mill Street.
Crofton Mayor Daniel Lacy identified these roads as being among the most critical in the county, saying, “Our existing funds are not enough to meet all of our needs, so these extra monies are greatly appreciated”.
In Princeton, the roads to receive work will be Baldwin Avenue, Harvey Lane, West Washington Street and Parkway Drive.
Princeton Mayor Kota Young says, “Putting money into roads and infrastructure is never a bad investment, and with ever-tightening budgets, every dollar counts. By leveraging these funds and matching them with local dollars, Princeton is set to invest a record amount of money into repaving its streets to the benefit of residents, businesses, and visitors alike.”
