A Russellville Road home was heavily damaged by fire Wednesday afternoon.
It started in a back bedroom at 3770 Russellville Road just east of Hopkinsville and spread to the attic, according to Highland Fire Department Deputy Chief Doug Chilton, who says all occupants and pets were able to evacuate safely.
He says the residents have experienced some electrical issues in that area of the home in recent days, but the cause of the fire will be under investigation. Fairview, Honey Grove and Pembroke firefighters were also called to the scene.
