Man arrested for meth, pills in Guthrie

A man was arrested on several drug charges following an investigation Friday afternoon in Guthrie.

Todd County Sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Turner and Guthrie Police Chief Dean Blumel were looking for 40-year old Jason Bennett of Guthrie to serve him with an emergency protective order when Sgt. Turner saw him make a turn onto North Ewing Street.

An arrest citation says Bennett appeared to be nervous and admitted to having marijuana and a pipe in his truck. A search allegedly revealed three used glass pipes, methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription pills in an Aleve bottle.

Bennett was arrested and charged with possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, prescription pills not in the proper container and DUI.

Police say he admitted to using meth about an hour before getting behind the wheel.
