The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library has announced Bonnie Lynch will be retiring as the Imagination Library Coordinator, effective December 31.
According to a news release, Lynch served the Imagination Library for many years in several different capacities. She was one of the early advocates for the Imagination Library and was instrumental in establishing the program in the nine communities throughout Christian County. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a free program to any child from birth to 5 years old and enrollment in the program provides an age appropriate book that is delivered to the child’s home every month.
Library Executive Director Deanna Sova says, “Bonnie has immersed herself in the Imagination Library initiative. The success of the Imagination Library Program today and the enrollment of an average of over 3400 children throughout Christian County monthly, are the result of Bonnie’s love of the children that are enrolled.”
Since the inception of the Imagination Library Program 7 years ago, over 235,000books have been mailed to children throughout the county.
The search for a new coordinator is set to begin quickly.
