Police contacted after online threats against Todd Central High

Law enforcement was contacted following alleged threats Tuesday morning on social media against Todd County Central High School.

Superintendent Ed Oyler issued a statement saying administrators learned of the threat that came from identified students during the morning commute.

Oyler says no specific person was targeted, but the district took the threat seriously and notified Elkton police and the Todd County Sheriff’s Department.

The students involved in making the threatening posts were removed from school grounds and disciplined.

Oyler says the school system will always pursue legal charges to the fullest extent of the law against anyone who makes a threat against a school.

Elkton Police Captain Jason Clardy says a juvenile suspect was detained on a terroristic threatening charge and lodged in the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Facility. He stresses that “at no point were there any immediate threats to students, faculty or staff safety” at the school.
