Some of the hottest weather of this summer will settle into western Kentucky Monday and Tuesday before rain and thunderstorms cool things off a little.
A Heat Advisory is in effect Monday for Calloway, Marshall and counties to the west.
While the Pennyrile region is not under the advisory, forecasters say we’ll still have heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees both days.
Anyone working outdoors should drink plenty of fluids, take frequent breaks in a shady area or air conditioned building and schedule activities for the morning and evening hours when possible.
High temperatures will return to the mid-80’s Wednesday, following passage of the cold front that will bring showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening.
