Distracted driving was a factor in a rear-end collision Saturday morning on Madisonville Road that injured a Crofton woman.
Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Vanderkolk investigated and says 52-year old Phillip Powell of Hopkinsville was southbound and had pulled over for a funeral procession when he was struck in the rear by a vehicle operated by 34-year old Tara Whisler of Crofton.
Whisler told Sgt. Vanderkolk she had looked down at her phone and it was too late to avoid a collision when she looked back up. She was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
Powell was not injured.
