There is now officially a contested race for circuit judge in Todd and Logan counties after Russellville lawyer Joe Hendricks filed his paperwork in Frankfort Wedensday.
Hendricks filed his petition with the Kentucky Secretary of State’s Office and will be on the November 5 ballot to serve out the remainder of the term of retired judge Tyler Gill.
Hendricks is a Logan County native, a graduate of Logan County High School, Berry College and the Georgia State University College of Law.
He served as an assistant district attorney for the Appalachian Circuit of Georgia and was elected as that Circuit’s chief prosecuting attorney in 2004.
He is currently a partner at Brooks and Hendricks, a general law practice in Russellville.
Hendricks will face Logan County Attorney Joe Ross in the general election.
