Logan County Attorney Joe Ross has filed his paperwork to make it official he’ll run for circuit judge in Todd and Logan counties.
Ross filed his nominating petition paperwork with the Kentucky Secretary of State’s Office Monday in Frankfort. He’s served the last nine years as Logan County Attorney and previously served as staff attorney for Judge Tyler Gill, who retired at the end of July and created the vacancy Ross is hoping to fill. Ross also spent time as an assistant commonwealth’s attorney in the two counties.
He will face Russellville lawyer Joe Hendricks in the November general election, with the winner to serve out the remainder of Judge Gill’s term.
It will be important for Todd and Logan County voters who normally vote straight party ticket that they will have two non-partisan races on their ballot. The election for circuit judge and the race for 1st District Kentucky Supreme Court justice between Court of Appeals Judge Shea Nickell and state Senator Whitney Westerfield.
