Sen. Maj. Leader McConnell breaks shoulder in fall at home

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is recovering after breaking his shoulder in a fall at his home.

An email from Senator McConnell’s office says he tripped on his patio and fractured his shoulder. He was treated and released from a local hospital and is working from home in Louisville.

A spokesperson says he was in contact with senators from Ohio and Texas Sunday to express his sympathy following the mass shooting in El Paso and Dayton.

Governor Matt Bevin has ordered flags to half-staff at state office buildings in Kentucky to honor the victims of both shootings.
