The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a single-vehicle collision on Red Hill Road that killed the driver Wednesday.
According to a wreck report, deputies responded to Red Hill Road near Orten Bridge Road in White Plains for a vehicle that had flipped. Investigation determined that a vehicle operated by 18-year old David Horton Jr. of Providence had been eastbound on Red Hill when he lost control for unknown reasons.
The vehicle went off the roadway and struck an embankment, causing it to go airborne and flip multiple times. Horton was reportedly ejected from the vehicle.
He was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.
