The Hoptown Hoppers had 18 hits-including four home runs-in a 17-4 rout of Madisonville in game two of the OVL West Divisional Series Saturday night in Madisonville.
The Hoppers scored four times in the first inning which included a three run home run from Charlie Fischer. Hoptown scored seven times in the third with Jacob Jenkins pounding a three run homer and Chandler Kendall added a two run shot. Cameron Hill also had a three run home run in a five run fourth inning.
Jenkins and Kendall each had three hits, with Fischer, Michael Conn and Brant Husser having two hits each. Zack Losey picked up his first win of the season as the Hoppers improved to 27-13 while Madisonville finished the season 13-28.
The Hoppers will begin the OVL West Division Championship Series Monday night at 7:05 at Tiger Field against either Paducah or Fulton, with pregame at 6:45 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and online at whopam.com.
