Hoppers down Madisonville in game one of OVL Playoffs

The Hoptown Hoppers opened the OVL West Divisional Playoffs with a 13-7 win over Madisonville at Tiger Field Friday night.

The Hoppers fell behind 4-0 in the first inning, but scored six times in the third to take a 7-5 lead and added three more runs in the fifth and seventh innings. Micah Genter returned to the lineup and went 3-4 with Ben Huber and Chandler Kendall each going 2-4. Kendall had four RBI. Charlie Fischer and Brant Husser each went 2-3.

Starter Will Nash went six and two thirds innings to improve to 3-1 on the season while Eddie Rives fell to 1-4 in taking the loss. The Hoppers improved to 26-13 while Madisonville is now 13-27.
