Inbee Park had five straight birdies in a 9-under 62 to take the first-round lead Friday in the LPGA Tour’s Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship. Princeton’s Emma Talley had a one over par 72 and tees off at 7:48 Saturday morning.

Nate Lashley shot a 5-under 67 on Friday to top the PGA Tour’sRocket Mortgage Classic leaderboard for the second straight day.
Lashley has a 14-under 130 total after two rounds at Detroit Golf Club. Lashley has a one shot lead over Cameron Champ, who played the front nine in eight under 28, matching the lowest nine-hole score on the PGA Tour this season.

Kentucky native JB Holmes is tied for 11th at nine under, Lexington native Josh Teater is tied for 33rd at seven under and Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is tied for 58th at five under. Former UK golfer Chip McDaniel missed the cut.

Franklin’s Kenny Perry withdrew before beginning his second round Friday at the US Senior Open at Notre Dame, IN. Perry announced on Twitter he would have an MRI on his injured elbow next week. Steve Stricker leads after two rounds at 14 under, with Jerry Kelly two shots back at 12 under and David Toms is third at 11 under par.
