Cerulean drowning victim identified

A local teenager has been identified as the victim who drowned Thursday at the Cerulean rock quarry.

The Trigg County Coroner’s Office says 17-year old Zachary Isiah Cheatham of Christian County died in the accidental drowning at the quarry on Cobb Road.

First responders from multiple agencies were called to that location at about 11:45 a.m. and divers arrived later in the afternoon to assist in the effort until Cheatham’s body was located.

The accident remains under investigation by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and Trigg County Coroner’s Office.
