Man arrested for warrants, drug trafficking in Crofton

A man sought on warrants in Kentucky and Tennessee is facing several new charges after being arrested following a foot pursuit Wednesday night in Crofton.

A bounty hunter from Clarksville called ECC and said he had followed 39-year old Joshua Shandle of Clarskville to the Crofton Dollar General. Sheriff Tyler DeArmond and Sgt. Brandon Myers arrived to find Shandle at the Redbox machine and he allegedly pulled away and fled on foot as they attempted to take him into custody.

Shandle allegedly ran across Highway 41 and through several backyards before he was caught and arrested.

A K9 alerted on his vehicle and a search allegedly revealed ecstasy and oxycodone pills.

A 9mm handgun loaded with hollow point bullets was found in the console and a computer check showed Shandle is a convicted felon.

He was charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, resisting arrest, fleeing or evading police, using restricted ammunition during commission of a felony, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was additionally served with the contempt of court warrant out of Calloway County and held as a fugitive from another state for the Montgomery County warrant.
