Christian Care Communities celebrates Older Americans Day

There was a party at Christian Care Communities Tuesday as residents celebrated Older Americans Day with dancing and fun.

Over 100 senior citizens visited with friends, danced to music played by a DJ, enjoyed dinner and got free ice cream on the campus of Friendship House. Lela Hale says they throw this party every year to celebrate the community’s seniors.

She says the event is both well attended and well enjoyed by participants, which come from all across the Christian Care Communities.

The event was organized by Activities Coordinator Debi Dawson. Christian Care Communities began as an orphan and widow’s home 134 years ago in Louisville. The Hopkinsville location opened in 1976 and expanded in 1978 and serves the senior citizens of the community today.
