Two Tennessee residents were arrested on methamphetamine charges Sunday evening following an investigation on Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Hopkinsville police were dispatched to check the welfare of a man in a vehicle parked at 4879 Fort Campbell Boulevard and officers found 36-year old Shawn Stewart of Knoxville, Tennessee in the passenger seat.

An arrest citation says he stepped out of the SUV to talk to police and later gave consent to search. A syringe loaded with meth was reportedly found in the glove compartment, in addition to a spoon with meth on it in the console.

The owner of the vehicle, 33-year old Thomas Nelson of Clarksville, was later located jogging on Fort Campbell Boulevard in the area of TJ Maxx.

Both men were arrested and charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. Stewart was additionally charged with giving officers a false name.
