Man charged with burglary, intimidating a participant in the legal process

A Hopkinsville man is facing charges of first-degree burglary and intimidating a participant in the legal process following a disturbance Saturday.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to an address on Henderson Drive for reports of a disturbance. A female victim had reported that 27-year old Cory Carneal of Hopkinsville, had allegedly struck in her the face with a drink can.

He also allegedly took her phone away in an attempt to stop her from contacting police and broke a window on the residence. After the initial disturbance, Carneal returned to the residence and entered through the broken window, allegedly slapping another person in the residence on the face. He allegedly had a visible cut on his arm from the broken window.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary, intimidating a participant in the legal process, fourth-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief.
