A confrontation on Hazel Street Tuesday night led to the arrest of a local man on serious charges.
An arrest citation for 29-year old Jerald Buckner of Hopkinsville says he and the mother of his children were arguing and that the woman attempted to leave with their kids. Buckner followed her to the vehicle and reached through the open window and struck her on the head, according to the report.
When the woman went back inside her home to call police, Buckner allegedly followed her and spit in her face. The woman said he also pulled a gun during the confrontation.
Buckner was arrested on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, fourth-degree assault and second-degree burglary.
