Kevin Sutherland defeated Scott Parel in a two hole playoff to win the PGA Tour Champions Principal Charity Classic in Des Moines, IA Sunday. Both finished regulation at 17 under with Sutherland birding the second playoff hole. Paducah’s Russ Cochran tied for 65th at three over par.

On the PGA Tour: Patrick Cantlay fired an eight-under 64 in Sunday’s final round to rally and win The Memorial at Muirfield Village. He erased a four-stroke deficit with the lowest final round by a winner in tournament history. Adam Scott finished in second place, two shots back at 17-under. Martin Kaymer was third at minus-15. Tiger Woods tied for ninth place at nine-under.

South Korean Jeongeun Lee6 was the winner of the US Women’s Open in Charleston, SC Sunday. Lee6 finished at six under par, good for a two shot win over three golfers including American Lexi Thompson.
