Two Kentucky Supreme Court justices and a judge on the Kentucky Court of Appeals were in Hopkinsville Friday morning for the local bar association’s annual Law Day observance.
Local judges and attorneys read the Constitution aloud each year at the Christian County Justice Center and Court of Appeals Judge Shea Nickell says it’s important because the Constitution is the bedrock of our freedom.
Recently sworn-in Justice David Buckingham of Murray notes that the three branches of government have recently been at odds in the state and federal government and the Constitution provides the necessary checks and balances.
Chief Justice John Minton says it’s necessary to find ways to continue educating the citizenry about the government which serves them.
Current and retired Christian County’s judges were on hand, in addition to judges from adjoining counties.
