Primary election voter turnout low so far

Local county clerks are reporting a light voter turnout so far in the primary election.

Christian County Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries hopes voting picks up throughout the day.

Christian County Clerk Mike Kem says there have been no additional problems with voting after a few minor issues getting started at some precincts.

Todd County Clerk Leslie Cunningham says voter turnout there has been light, despite the wet-dry vote in Elkton.

She says the primary in Todd County has been mostly problem-free.

Officials at the Trigg County Clerk’s Office say they’ve also had a smooth morning.

A 6 percent voter turnout was predicted in Christian County, 10-15 percent in Todd and about 11 percent was projected for Trigg County.

State constitutional offices such as governor, attorney general, secretary of state, state auditor, commissioner of agriculture and treasurer are on the ballot.
