Traffic stop leads to cocaine possession arrest

A traffic stop for an equipment violation early Friday morning led to the arrest of a Fort Campbell man on a cocaine charge.

A Hopkinsville police officer stopped 25-year old Daniel Watts of Fort Campbell after he was observed leaving Bryan Street a little after 1 a.m. with only one taillight illuminated and not wearing his seatbelt.

An arrest citation says a K9 alerted on the vehicle and a search allegedly revealed one gram of cocaine.

Watts was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and several equipment and traffic violations.
