The road closure that was set to begin Tuesday at the bridge over Little River on Millbrooke Drive has been postponed until May 28, in an effort to limit impact on school traffic.
That’s according to an updated news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which states that there will be lane restrictions starting Tuesday, with full closure of the road to begin on May 28. The contractor will restrict traffic to one lane on Tuesday, to allow for prep work to begin replacing the bridge. Then on May 28, after the current school year comes to an end, the road will close for demolition of the current bridge and construction of a new bridge structure.
During the closure, access will be maintained for property owners on each side of the closure. The target completion date for the project is December 1st, which means the closure will extend into next school year.
