Christian County government is in the middle of its budget-making process and Fiscal Court will hear first reading in late May.
Treasurer Walter Cummings notes the budget committee recently heard requests from 20 agencies and county departments and they’re now looking at projected revenue for the upcoming fiscal year.
It’s not just the pension liability that’s going up, Cummings says it will cost significantly more to stock the Road Department with salt for the upcoming winter.
Christian Fiscal Court will likely take up first reading of a budget on May 28th.
