The Clarksville Police Department has announced its hosting a Teen Citizens’ Police Academy this summer.
It will be July 15-19 and it will be free of charge to participants. Applications can be downloaded and submitted at Clarksvillepd.org and the deadline to apply is 4 p.m. on July 1.
The class size will be limited to 30 teens and participants are required to attend each day.
A news release says the Teen Citizens’ Police Academy is designed to give young people the opportunity to learn about the Clarksville Police Department and its operations in an effort to demonstrate the benefits of law enforcement and community policing in our city. It also gives the department an opportunity to interact with teens and solicit their feedback and ideas through the discussion of relevant issues within our community.
