Christian County defeated University Heights 5-1 in 8th district action Monday. The Colonels got a two run double from winning pitcher Eric Silvy in the second and added a single run in the third and two in the fifth inning. UHA’s lone run came in the bottom of the 7th off Christian County reliever Layton Stallons.
Silvy had two of Christian County’s seven hits while Ian Tyler had two of UHA’s three hits. Silvy struck out nine in his six innings of work, with losing pitcher Drew McGowan striking out 10 Colonels.
Christian County is now 9-5/5-0 in 8th district play while University Heights is 8-8/2-3 in district games.
