University Heights downed Fort Campbell 16-6 in the 2nd Region All A Classic at Crittenden County. Drew McGowan went 3-4 for the Blazers with Tanner Thomas and Eston Glover adding two hits. Dan Johnson went the distance to get the pitching win.Fort Campbell’s Ryan Sawyer went 3-4 with Tyler MacKay and Matthew Middleton each getting two hits. MacKay also took the pitching loss for the Falcons, now 1-5.
UHA improved to 6-5 on the season and faces Lyon County in the 2nd Region All A championship game Thursday in Marion.
Christian County picked up a 4-3 walk off win over Muhlenberg County. A fielder’s choice by Patrick Croney in the bottom of the 7th inning plated the winning run. Wyatt Stevenson led the Colonels with two hits and picked up the pitching win in relief of Eric Silvy. Christian County improved to 6-4 and play at Northeast Thursday in Clarksville.
