Hopkinsville took a weekend to celebrate diversity and global cultures with the Hopkinsville International Festival.
The festival had a new location this year inside the Hopkinsville Sportsplex, where attendees got to take advantage of the new global village layout and the large open soccer area. Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman says the festival went off without a hitch and people got to enjoy many performances, musical acts and world sports games.
He says the Sportsplex allowed them to bring attendees new events.
Brockman says they saw approximately 3,700 come through the doors throughout the weekend.
Attendees got to experience many countries in the global village, from Japan, to Colombia, from India to the Philippines, sit in on story time in different languages and dance along with performers on the main stage.
