The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating a shots fired call on Glass Avenue Friday afternoon that put area schools on lockdown as a precaution.
According to Hopkinsville Police Public Information Officer Mike Atkins, officers received reports that a male suspect had gotten out of a vehicle on Glass Avenue and then fired shots at the vehicle as it drove away.
Officer Atkins says the suspect then fled on foot and schools were locked down briefly as K9 units and officers searched the area.
At this point in time, no victims have been found, nor has the suspect, and no injuries reported. The investigation continues in that area. Christian County High and Middle Schools, Christian County Head Start and University Heights Academy have since been taken off of lock down and have returned to regular activities.
