Mayfield High School named Payton Croft as its new boys head coach today. Croft spent the last six seasons at Trigg County going 85-80 during his tenure with the Wildcats. Before going to Trigg County, he worked as an assistant coach at both Hopkinsville and Christian County. Croft replaces Chris Guhy who announced his retirement at the end of the just completed season after 17 seasons as Mayfield’s head coach and 31 seasons with the Cardinals program.
