North Carolina woman facing charges after brief pursuit

A North Carolina woman is facing numerous charges following a brief pursuit Saturday, including DUI.

According to a police report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies observed a vehicle traveling on the Pennyrile Parkway at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was allegedly clocked at going 103 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone and deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop.

The driver, 22-year old Diamond Anderson of Fayetteville, North Carolina, reportedly never slowed down as she exited the parkway at Lovers Lane, ignoring a stop sign and getting back onto the on-ramp for the parkway before coming to a stop. She allegedly struck a concrete curb and had three flat tires on the vehicle.

Anderson allegedly had an odor of alcohol on her person and admitted to drinking a shot of alcohol before driving. She reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests.

Anderson was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, DUI, reckless driving and multiple traffic violations.
