The ribbon was cut Wednesday afternoon in Elkton for a partnership between DDS Glass Doors and Cisaplast USA.
Both companies specialize in manufacturing and distributing glass doors for freezers seen in places like gas stations and grocery stores, but the Italian company Cisaplast had not previously had a presence in North America.
Davide Valeli says the Elkton made good logistical sense because of location and existing infrastructure at the DDS Plant and he believes the two companies can grow together.
Shane Belcher with DDS says they’ve already made agreements with several new clients in recent months and Cisaplast brings an expertise needed for large-scale growth.
The glass door plant is located just west of Dairy Queen in the old Ardco building on West Main Street in Elkton.
Representatives of PADD, the Southwestern Kentucky Economic Development Council and the Todd County Chamber of Commerce were on hand, in addition to Elkton Mayor Arthur Green and Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield.
