A Hopkinsville man sought on several felony charges in Madisonville was arrested Thursday.
An arrest warrant for 30-year old Rowbaire Whitted of Hopkinsville alleges that on February 3rd, he knocked on the door to the home of his ex-girlfriend and forced his way inside when she opened it slightly.
He allegedly took her cell phone so she couldn’t call police and strangled the woman to the point of almost losing consciousness.
Whitted allegedly confined the victim to a bedroom until she eventually persuaded him to allow her to leave with her son, but he pinned her vehicle in the driveway. That’s when the victim fled to a neighbor’s home and was able to call for police and Whitted left with her car keys, phone and pistol.
Whitted was located at a South Main Street location in Hopkinsville Thursday and was served with the warrant for first-degree burglary, unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree assault and intimidating a participant in the legal process.
