About four inches of rain has fallen since Sunday morning and a Flood Warning remains in effect until 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service says motorists on their morning commute should be on the lookout for standing water and remember—turn around, don’t drown.
A flood warning is also in effect for the south fork of Little River in Christian and Trigg counties. Minor river flooding is expected to occur when Little River crests at 18.6 feet and it should fall back below flood stage late this morning.
Sections of Maton Road and Henderson Road are closed in Todd County and Barefield Road is closed in Trigg County by high water. Caledonia Road is closed at the Little River Bridge. A dispatcher at Christian County ECC had no reports of road closures early this morning.
Creeks, streams and rivers may continue to rise this morning, so additional flooding issues could develop.
