Predators make two acquisitions today

The Nashville Predators have acquired veteran forward Brian Boyle from the New Jersey Devils for a second-round pick in the June NHL draft.

The 34-year-old Boyle has 13 goals and 19 points in 47 games with New Jersey this season. The deal gives the Predators both size and experience with forward Austin Watson currently suspended indefinitely as part of the NHL’s
substance abuse program.

The Predators also made a second acquisition today getting forward Cody McLeod from the New York Rangers for a seventh round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. McLeod is no stranger to the Predators, having played in 54 games in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons. He had just one goal in 31 games for the Rangers this season.

One other Predator note according to general manager David Poile states forward Zac Rinaldo will undergo season ending surgery for a shoulder injury.
